For today’s act of spontaneity, I decided to reach out to my great-aunt and great-uncle, who are like grandparents to me. They live in assisted living in Florida, and though we talk on the phone sometimes, I don’t think I communicate with them as often as I should. More importantly, I don’t communicate with them as often as I’d like.
I wrote a letter because, sometimes, letters are more fun. Phone calls and texts and emails are all extremely convenient—and I’m grateful to have these modes of communication—but letters feel more personal. I like receiving letters in the mail, and I’m guessing they do too.
I think I might write letters more often; I’ve got stationery and stamps just sitting around, so I might as well use them!
