Day 61

Admittedly, some days, this project feels forced. I slip back into autopilot, and venturing out of the rut seems impossibleand, worse, pointless. Going to work and then collapsing in front of Netflix can be all too easy.

Today has been one of those days.

I haven’t been sleeping well. I worked late and then brought work home. I’ve been busy procrastinating an ever-growing list of tasks.

These, of course, are excusesand poor ones, at thatso I followed through with the first act of spontaneity that came to mind: revisiting writing song-inspired stories. Since I started my main writing blog, song-inspired stories have been one of my favorite writing exercises, but it’s been a few months since I’ve written one. Tonight seemed like the perfect time to change that, so I wrote one inspired by Anju’s “Cassiopeia.” It’s not quite polished enough to post yet, but I’ll post it at some point this week.

Despite all the excuses and grumbling in the world, I emerged from the slog to do something I’m passionate about and end my day on a high note. That’s exactly why I started this project in the first place.
