For today’s act of spontaneity, I dug out my old charcoal supplies and reacquainted myself with the medium. 50 minutes and four drawings later, I feel an unshakable sense of peace.
I didn’t judge my work or fixate on adhering to any standards. I didn’t obsess over what I wanted to depict or analyze what every little line represented. I just created.
I feel so much lighter now, and once I get this charcoal dust out of my eye, I’ll embrace the tranquility.
