I think I’ve caught a cold, so today’s act of spontaneity had to be something tame: I started watching “Derry Girls.” In addition to being entertaining, the show has opened my eyes to how ignorant I am about Northern Ireland.
I’m not a fan of ignorance in anyone, especially myself, so I’m doing some reading now to try to expand my understanding. Sure, t.v. is entertainment, first and foremost, but any media can—and should—broaden horizons.
