This afternoon, I accepted a new friend’s invitation to visit the cafe where she works. On a day otherwise consumed by coronavirus panic—complete with news alerts every hour—the fleeting bubble of normalcy came as a welcome reprieve.
It’s unclear whether it will be safe or wise to return in the coming days, so I’m glad I took the chance to visit when I did.
